60 Days EOM: Meaning and Due Dates
60 Days EOM means payment is due 60 days after the end of the month in which the invoice is dated. Counting from the last day of that month, an invoice dated 15 January 2026 is due on 1 April 2026 (Wednesday). Because a second counting method gives 31 March 2026, print the exact due date on the invoice.

What 60 Days EOM means
60 days EOM ("end of month") means the payment period of 60 days starts at the end of the month in which the invoice is dated, not on the invoice date itself.
In date arithmetic: find the last day of the invoice month, then add 60 calendar days. That is method 1 below, and it is the reading our tables and due date calculator show first. The words "60 Days EOM" do not say which method applies, so agree it with your customer and print the resulting date on the invoice.
Two ways to count 60 Days EOM
- Method 1: end of the invoice month + 60 days. Invoice dated 15 January 2026 → end of month 31 January 2026 → + 60 days = 1 April 2026 (Wednesday).
- Method 2: invoice date + 60 days, then to the end of that month. 15 January 2026 + 60 days = 16 March 2026 → end of that month = 31 March 2026 (Tuesday).
A French ministerial answer describes these two methods for "45 jours fin de mois" (45 days end of month) and says the parties should agree one in advance; it does not deal with other periods. The same two readings exist for 60 Days EOM as a matter of arithmetic. See the quote on the 45 days EOM page.

How many days 60 Days EOM gives
Between 60 and 90 days after the invoice date, under either method. The shortest case is an invoice dated on the last day of a month: 31 January 2026 → 1 April 2026, exactly 60 days. The longest is an invoice dated on the 1st of a 31-day month: 1 January 2026 → 1 April 2026, 90 days (method 1).
60 Days EOM vs Net 60

|---|---|---|---|
| 2 January 2026 | 3 March 2026 | 1 April 2026 | 31 March 2026 |

What the law says
60 Days EOM gives 60 to 90 days after the invoice date. The texts below set limits and conditions for agreed payment periods, including periods longer than 60 days; count the actual days on your invoice rather than relying on the label.

European Union: Public authorities as the payer: the 30-day period
the period for payment does not exceed any of the following time limits: (i) 30 calendar days following the date of receipt by the debtor of the invoice or an equivalent request for payment; More payment-period rules: what the law says about payment periods.

60 Days EOM FAQ
What does 60 days EOM mean?
The customer pays 60 days after the end of the month in which the invoice is dated. Counting from the last day of the month, an invoice dated 15 January 2026 is due on 1 April 2026; counting 60 days from the invoice date and then going to the end of that month gives 31 March 2026.
Is 60 days EOM longer than 60 days?
Usually. It gives between 60 and 90 days after the invoice date under either counting method. Counting from the end of the invoice month, it is exactly 60 days only when the invoice is dated on the last day of a month. Where a rule limits agreed payment periods to 60 days, count the actual days rather than relying on the label.
