Net 10 EOM: What It Means and When Payment Is Due
Net 10 EOM means payment is due 10 days after the end of the month in which the invoice is dated. Counting from the last day of that month, an invoice dated 25 January 2026 is due on 10 February 2026 (Tuesday). Because a second counting method gives 28 February 2026, print the exact due date on the invoice.

What Net 10 EOM means

In date arithmetic: find the last day of the invoice month, then add 10 calendar days. That is method 1 below, and it is the reading our tables and due date calculator show first. The words "Net 10 EOM" do not say which method applies, so agree it with your customer and print the resulting date on the invoice.
Two ways to count Net 10 EOM
- Method 1: end of the invoice month + 10 days. Invoice dated 25 January 2026 → end of month 31 January 2026 → + 10 days = 10 February 2026 (Tuesday).
- Method 2: invoice date + 10 days, then to the end of that month. 25 January 2026 + 10 days = 4 February 2026 → end of that month = 28 February 2026 (Saturday).
A French ministerial answer describes these two methods for "45 jours fin de mois" (45 days end of month) and says the parties should agree one in advance; it does not deal with other periods. How many days Net 10 EOM gives
Between 10 and 40 days after the invoice date, under either method. The shortest case is an invoice dated on the last day of a month: 31 January 2026 → 10 February 2026, exactly 10 days. The longest is an invoice dated on the 1st of a 31-day month: 1 January 2026 → 10 February 2026, 40 days (method 1).
Net 10 EOM vs Net 10
Net 10 counts 10 days from the invoice date; Net 10 EOM counts from the end of the invoice month, so it is never earlier. The same invoice dates give:

Microsoft's Excel help says EOMONTH "Returns the serial number for the last day of the month that is the indicated number of months before or after start_date"

How to write Net 10 EOM on an invoice
Replace [due date] with the date you worked out. The date removes any doubt about the counting method.
- Payment terms: Net 10 EOM (10 days after the end of the invoice month). Payment is due by [due date].
- Please pay by the 10th of the month after the invoice month: [due date].
- Terms: Net 10 EOM. Due date: [due date].

What does Net 10 EOM mean?
Net 10 EOM means payment is due 10 days after the end of the month in which the invoice is dated. Counting from the last day of the invoice month, that is always the 10th of the following month: every invoice dated in January 2026 is due on 10 February 2026.
Is Net 10 EOM the same as "10th prox"?
Counted from the last day of the invoice month, yes: both give the 10th day of the next month. "Prox" is short for proximo, which Dictionary.com defines as "in, of, or during the next month". If your customer counts the other way (10 days from the invoice date, then to the end of that month), the date can move to the end of the next month, so print the date on the invoice.
How many days does Net 10 EOM give the customer?
Between 10 and 40 days after the invoice date: 10 days when the invoice is dated on the last day of a month, up to 40 days when it is dated on the 1st of a 31-day month.
